There’s hardly a time in his life there wasn’t a camera in his hand. Daniel started with one of the very first ‘portable’ VHS cameras tethered to a tape deck that barely reached outside through his front door. At 15 he got a hold of a digital editing system that his high school had just unboxed. He didn’t really share it much over the next 3 years.
No career fair or questionnaire was needed when Daniel decided to attend Ball State University in 2001. He continued shooting, cutting and directing in their school of Video Production. After graduation, he worked a few years for PentaVision Communications in South Bend, Indiana before moving to Madison, Wisconsin and starting at Mirror 34 Productions (formerly ProVideo & Film).
Through those 14 years, Daniel’s collaborated on work for Reebok, Old Navy, Lands’ End, KwikTrip, Fiskars, Snap-on, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Trek Travel, Duluth Trading Co., Jones Dairy Farm, GoDaddy and Carsey Werner Television. His latest short film ‘The Backup’ just premiered at the Wisconsin Film Festival. From that experience he has developed a keen eye and acute sense of timing; both in the editing suite and on set. He’s been involved with every single step of the process and knows exactly how to execute any project both efficiently and effectively.
The idea is just the starting point for Daniel. His combination of practical skills, extensive experience and unrelenting passion for the craft puts him in a unique position to produce the most compelling images, cut and ultimate result. He is currently operating under the moniker of The Diligent Company as a freelance director, editor and writer in Madison, Wisconsin.
